Numeric grid: appended text box; two columns; minimum and maximum numeric answer

This example demonstrates a numeric grid question. The question has two columns. An appended 8-character text box gives instructions on the items to enter. A range of acceptable numbers is determined by the Minimum and Maximum Numeric Answer options on the Question Option screen.

  1. Click Select a Question Type>Answer Grid>Numeric Text Boxes from the Question menu.
  2. On the Question Options screen, enter 8 as the width of the text box.

  1. Enter the instructional text that appears next to the text box in the Text to Append to Text Box field.
  2. If desired, enter a minimum and maximum numeric answer to set a range for the numbers that may be entered into the numeric text box, for example, 1 to 1000.
  3. Save the Option screen.
  4. Create your question text and your row and column labels using Set Question Text and Set Answer Options. Click Add Codes Ascending to assign values to the response options.
